When it’s my turn
When it’s my turn, to shuffle off this mortal coil To move on to the next stage of this great journey There’ll be no tears
I want no black ties, no long faces No sad, mournful hymns, no lillies, no boughs of sad cypress
Don’t shed your tears for me, I’m not gone, I haven’t died I’m more alive now then ever I was when I walked this earth I’m coming home
Play happy music, to send me on my way It’s a scary journey – but I have faith – I will come to no harm But don’t you dare shed tears for me I’m fine – my thoughts go out to you
And, in time, when it’s your time You and I will meet again We’ll embrace, and share our memories again And we’ll be together forever
So – don’t shed tears for me I’ve just gone ahead, I’m just a few steps in front of you You have the rest of your time – make the most of it Don’t waste your tears on me
